My Parody on Beowulf

Sir Big Bird

.A big blue monster living down by the bakery moans and groans as each day passes. Day after day the Sesame Street Gang gathers at the Fix-It Shop, singing and eating chocolate chip cookies. The Fix-It Shop was a great hall built by the very well respected King Elmo. It could withstand fire, earthquakes, and tornadoes but not flooding. One night as the gang partied at the Fix-It Shop eating cookies and singing, C is for Cookie, the Cookie Monster watched grudgingly upon the group. The Cookie Monster had once been a part of the Sesame Street Gang but had been outlawed for eating too many cookies at the parties and not leaving enough for everyone else. That is how he got the name, Cookie Monster. Once the music and laughter died down and the gang all fell asleep, the Cookie Monster snuck into the Fix-It Shop, breaking down the door along the way, and stole every last cookie (And crumb!) that was left sitting on the great table. When the gang awoke and found all their beloved cookies gone they cried and cried for days on end. They couldnt believe their luck that all their cookies had been stolen while they slept peacefully that horrible night. This was the end of the partying at the Fix-It Shop until one day King Elmo called upon the great Sir Big Bird of The Nest Next Door to help save them from this cookie thief. King Elmo hoped that Sir Big Bird would be able to defeat Cookie Monster and his gang would again be able to eat and sing at the Fix-It Shop night after night. That night Sir Big Bird arrived at the Fix-It Shop to try and save the Sesame Street Gangs great hall from Cookie Monster. Sir Big Bird was well-known for his heroic deeds and saving his people from many evil creatures from the Big Bad Wolf of Red Riding Land to the Evil Stepsisters from Cinderellyland. As they partied Oscar (the Grouch) confronted Sir Big Bird saying,

Sir Big Bird, you who fought so many great battles, you are a great fool. So many have warned you against your battles with Cookie Monster but you refuse to listen, they know what they are talking about. We have tried to challenge him but are unable to defeat him, what makes you so certain you can. I believe in facing him your luck will change and you will lose the battle and maybe even your own life.

In response to this great challenge Sir Big Bird claims,

Oscar, my dear friend, you are just on a major sugar high from all the cookies you have been eating. After all my previous battles I feel I am up to the challenge of facing Cookie Monster. I am going to face him bare hands, no weapon, no protection for myself. He is coming in unarmed so I am too; I want to make it a fair fight.

As the night got later and later slowly the gang all started to fall asleep. Sir Big Bird joined in, but lied down next to the great table where all the cookies were kept, pretending to be asleep. Once Cookie Monster heard nothing but silence from the Fix-It Shop he crept up to the window to find everyone in the hall asleep, or so he thought. He then snuck into the Fix-It Shop and up to the great table where all the cookies were kept. As he stepped by Sir Big Birds head, Sir Big Bird grabbed Cookie Monster by the ankle throwing him to the floor. Cookie Monster fought to get his ankle free but couldnt seem to get away no matter how hard he pulled. The harder Cookie Monster pulled the harder Sir Big Bird held on. As they wrestled around on the floor Sir Big Bird slowly pulled out all of Cookie Monsters blue hair piece by piece. Finally Cookie Monster pulled away and went out the door moaning and crying back to his home near the bakery where he lived out the rest of his life without bothering anyone or stealing any cookies. In the meantime Sir Big Bird came and wove all Cookie Monsters hair into a giant rug to be used at the Fix-It Shop in remembrance of his great defeat over Cookie Monster. In thanks to what Sir Big Bird did, King Elmo presented Sir Big Bird with many gifts and honors to take back to his land of The Nest Next Door. And once again the doors of the Fix-It Shop were reopened for all to come to and eat chocolate chip cookies and sing, C is for Cookie.
